Wrong Colour on PCN

Hi
I received a parking ticket yesterday having thought I'd parked legally. Missed signs that the council had made the area restricted parking unless in bays, so came back to the car at 9pm with kids in tow after being at the SECC carnival to a ticket, the traffic wardens apparently come at that time evry night to get people at the carnival - lovely.
Anyway the colour of my car was incorrect, they had stated orange when my car is silver, so not even close.its a brightly lit street and there were 3 of them.
Am I able to appeal on this basis??
thanks

No. That bit is irrelevant. However, the ticket and/or road markings and/or signs may not be correct.

Upload photos of all of the above (including ALL of the ticket) and someone will be along to advise you.
  • Sarahg1969 is spot on....the regs do not require the vehicle colour to be included on a PCN....although DfT guidance does. Many parking bays are non-compliant and so are the accompanying signs so take some photos as it may save you a few quid.
  • thanks folks, I shall so that, its worth an appeal anyway, as ifi ts rejected I can still pay the £30 instead of the £60
    thanks
