Im definately going to do my own make up. Id like false eyelashes so im going to try to put some on and see what they look like...lol. Or i might get them done in a salon. How long beforehand would they last(done professionally)? Would the day before be ok? I also thinking of getting a mobile hairdresser to come to the house...if not ill go to a nearby salon.
  • Hi

I got married in North London last year (Hendon) and paid £155 plus a small amount for travel for my hair and makeup. I was going to go for a package which included bridesmaids but in the end they didn't want their hair and makeup done so I left it but I recall it being a really good deal. The girl's name was Sam and her website (ANYA) is www.experienceanya.com. I did do a couple of trials at local salons but although the were slightly cheaper, their ideas weren't very creative...

    £600!!

Blimey, have you tried to book Kate Moss' make up artist?:rotfl:

I'm in Scotland, and it's costing me £60 for hair and make up. Mind you, I would ecpect down south to be more expensive anyway.

Hi louise where in Scotland are you??? Thats a great price, are you using an independant or chain????

I'm going to do my own make-up. Going to save up my Boots Advantage points for the next year and treat myself to some new make-up! I've also asked family to get me vouchers for my birthday and christmas for the hairdresser and the local beauticians so I can get my fake bake, nails and leg waxing done. So i'm actually hoping that my hair and make up will cost me nothing!!!

We really are on a budget!!!!
  • 600??? My hair will be costing 18 for the trial (which I've had and was very good). &18 for the day itself. The lady thats doing it was reccomended by my hairdresser. My makeups costing 15 for the trial (which I'll have next week) and 15 for the day, my house is on the ladies way to work thats doing that so she'll do it at my house for no extra cost! I'm in north yorks btw
  • Not including tips, for my hair and make-up trial, hair and make-up on the day, my daughters hair (both off ours to be put up in curlers the night before as our hair is really thick) and a manicure and pedicure will cost me just under £100. I do have to go there, but it is all in the one shop.

I went for the trial the other day and really liked my hair, but realised it didn't suit my headband/tiara as it looked to small so I now need to find a new one.
