Thanks for that that. We are actually hoping to book July at Butlins too and may try for Feb half term also.

You pay for 4 people even if only 2 or 3 go. The only dates in July are 6 and 13 for 4 nights or 3, 10 and 17 for 3 nights - so for me only one that falls within school holidays is 17th, may be different for you depending on where you live.

They have dates for Feb half term, Easter and May Spring holiday too though so that may be an option for you.

We did this last time for the first time and we upgraded for the heating in the van as we have two young children who really feel the cold..

It cost us in total approx £203 and the same holiday online was £210 when we went. This was 4 days at primrose valley and we got a gold/prestige van.

We were naive though and booked the insurance too.

I don't think i'd book through the sun again as we have had two last minute deals to haven which were lovely and we had none of the anxious wait wondering where we got etc..

You dont have to purchase them, but check each sites details as I know of one site where you do have to pay for the adult passes.

I think thats how they make their money, we have been to several havens - have never paid to upgrade but have always got a better van and always with heating for the basic £38. I'm not sure any havens have caravans now without bedroom heating, even when we have booked direct and had bronze accom due to taking the dog, the bedrooms have had heating. I cant vouch for other sites.
