i loved mine too had it for over twenty years husband made bread and rolls with it and it was invaluable for baking when the kids were young i also used to whisk up a tin of evaporated milk with the balloon whisk then melt a jelly in the micro with minimal water and whisk it into the milk for a lovely light jelly the milk more than doubled in volume i bought the shredder attachment and was great for doing coleslaw etc

Hi, just had to boast here, when I got divorced, my ex kept all the house contents & I really missed my Kenwood mixer, then my DD found one at a car boot sale for £4.50, oh boy was I made up, I've been turning out cakes & biccies ever since.

There are some great bargains going on e-bay at the moment, I've just taken a peek :)
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

    F U Fund currently at £250
  • I would definately go for a second hand one. I bought one at a car boot for £5 a few years ago. It was an older model but works fine, particularly good for kneading bread dough. I often see them in car boots. I bought the liquidiser attachment for mine direct from the manufacturer and it fits OK so all the models must have standard fittings.

The Kenwood KM300 is currently on offer at Tesco for £99.99 inc delivery if that's any help to anyone :)

Offer ends 10am tomnorrow though so you'll have to be quick! ;)

I'm still umming and ahhhing about it as I'm not sure I really need one being as I have a food processer (ok it's old, but it still works) plus a stick blender and hand whisk, so can anyone think of any reason I might need it that my current tools can't do already?

I know the feeling CQ. I have had the tesco check out page open for about 2 hrs hummming and haaaaaing over it. I really wanna go for it but have so many other things that £99.99 could be spent on. Im due a bonus from work soon (end of this month fingers crossed) and so it could be my treat to myself!
    What to do.....,, eh?!

How about 'proper' bread? minced beef where you know what went in to it? HM sausages for the same reason etc

I've got the BM to make bread; could probably make mince in the food processor - ok, it won't come out in "stringy bits" like the shop bought stuff, but it would still be "mince" nonetheless, and I would have to buy separate attachments to make mince and sausages anyway which all adds to the cost ;)

I'm talking myself out of buying this quite well aren't I :rotfl:

The only advantage I can see so far is being able to leave it to mix/whip/beat whatever whilst getting on with something else instead of standing there with hand mixer and bowl; plus it's such a bargain price to miss if I decided later that I do want one

Have you decided what to do yet Honey? :D
