Hi Lazy moo and a huge welcome to the forums and here's to a great 2009!
Now you've introduced yourself, don't be a stranger.

Thank you for all your lovely welcomes!
spam- i'm also trying to teach the kids the value of money-they have their own sealed pot, a 99p barbie money box from home bargains, that lo got for her birthday, which for some bizzare reason you can't open, and it made of metal so god knows how we going to get into the bloomin thing:rolleyes:
anyhow any spare pennies from mummies purse goes in there, and any other spare money they can find, they are good at rooting round in nana and grandads couch now:rotfl:
it's half full now and they so excited, its their holiday money ( 4 days in the caravan at haggerston castle £107, not bad I thought! plus my two mates so am only paying £35 pound!! even better...) so hopefully it will have enough in to buy all the crap they like to buy!
any ideas btw on how to get open said savings tin would be much appreciated!! i'm thinking an axe...if i had one....which I don't

Would a can opener do it?
Try saving £2 coins too.... we do this and it pays for our spending money at Center Parcs!
It's amazing how it all mounts up.
Have you tried doing paid surveys too?

Was thinking a tin opener linda, but when I checked, the metal is really quite thick and has a rim round it so it wouldn't work, but thanks anyway!
not tried the paid surveys yet, but to be honest there is so much info/posts on this site I have a hard time getting my head round it sometimes!!
I did sign up for i-measure thought which was great- till i found out i roughly owe about £300 in gas and electric- it's my own fault as I moved in august and didn't set up the direct debit till september, then the 1st payment didn't come out till the end of nov...I should of rang them really when payment didn't come out straight away, but like a stupid mare I didn't:mad:
so I've sent of my correct readings and am just waiting for massive bill to drop onto mat!
actually the money I was going to pay to cc in jan is probably going to have to go towards this instead!!
well i've only got myself to blame!!:o
