you bunch of lovely !!!!!!s......

well I'm going to have to type this again after it got lost:mad: I'm not the worlds greatest typer!!

I just wanted to say to you all that you are a amazing bunch of people, and have helped me with my debts, albeit not knowing it as I'm a lurker ( when does lurking become stalking:rotfl: )

I did say in my previous post (the one that got lost) that I don't have a massive debt compared to some of you but it did worry me as I'm canny old fashioned in the fact that if I don't have the money for it, I have to save for it! but when I split from ex I had to buy some things for new house and stuck it on credit.

if it was just me I would have done without but wanted to make things comfortable for the kids as I had took them away from their dad....

so after all your helful money makin tips and saving advice I have paid off this..

loan - 224 - paid

mothercare - 80 - paid

argos - 294 - paid

wasing machine - 320 - paid

credit card - 775 - 300 paid today so 445

I hope you all don't think I'm showing off or anything but I couldn't have done it without your help, I've managed to do this november and am eternally grateful to all of you or I would have been letting this debt tick over on min payments...

oh and by the way...hypno i love your diary..i think i love you:rotfl:

Well done on clearing some on your debts, may I just ask, are those figures F&F setlements or the full amout you owed on each?

well I'm going to use the money from the council tax break (feb/march isn't it?) to chuck another 200 quid at my credit card, and once that is cleared I'll start some serious saving, I'm so tight with money now, I don't buy anything apart from absolute necesseties, my family think I've gone mad cos I was always spending money on rubbish:rotfl:

and just a quick question..I have a direct debit for my council tax, will the council just not collect the payments in feb-mar or do I have to cancel it myself??

they should just not collect it in Feb & March, though of course it is always worth keeping an eye on your bank account - I've never had a problem with it though, and I think the direct debit is only set up for 10 months of the year as a matter of course.

  • as it is paid by DD, they should only take payments when they need to, so they shouldnt take the payments out of your account during the break. HTH! ps- well done you!

thank you both! I'm also going to use the kids maintenence next month, which is £100 (god I'm such a bad mummy) to stick on the cc, but they got so much stuff for christmas, clothes etc, they do not need anything at all in january.

god I hope the ex not surfing these forums..he wouldnt be best pleased about the maintenece..but actually he's managed to rack up 80 grands worth of debt since we split so maybe I should send him the link:rotfl:
