Just as a thought have you tried to eliminate at least one possibility
- Configure the memory back to it's original state to allow windows to load.
- After startup go to Start>Run>Type msconfig>ok.
- At the system configuration utility window go to the tab named BOOT.INI and select the advanced options. A dialog box appears and there will be a number of boxes. Uncheck the MAXMEM box or amend the MAXMEM value as necessary..
