They all do this, it's not an isolated phenomenon, sales are a con, always have been.
Similar thing happened today when I was shopping, a well known clothes shop were (up until about a week ago) selling a line of jumpers for £20 each or 2 for £30. Yet in the sales today the offer had gone, but they where selling the jumpers for £15 each. So in other words, no sale at all - just the same offer they have been advertising all year but re-worded!
The majority of the sales are a con -- the shops save up all their 'tat' throughout the year and 'flog' it in one mass for all jumble sale!0
