Halfords sale ripoff

I went into Halfords earlier today to purchase a cd player that was advertised at half price, yet was surprised to find that the price quoted was £49.99, down from £99.99. The reason for my surprise was that the same unit was £49.99 in November at full price. I know because I bought one then!
Perhaps someone can explain?

the probably increased the price to 99.99 in December in preparation for doing this in the sale, this is perfectly legal I think, doesn't make it right though I agreeAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00

Was in River Island today and some items were advertised at half price (small print being the higher price was charged in 10 of their stores, out of how many hundred?). Sales are a con.0

Yes this is a rip off - personally I am glad some of these shops that do this are going to the wall good riddance to all of them. Let the honest ones survive (and the will). I do not use Halfords just look at their prices for items like headlight bulbs0

Sadly as long as the product has been at the higher price in the last 6 months somewhere in the country, they can get away with it.
Halfords are very naughty with the stock levels too, found a SatNav in a previous "sale" reserved online, was at the doors before they opened and surprise surprise they did not have it, later found out from someone who worked at the branch that any bargains are "lost" so that staff can then buy them to flog on ebay....My Mind wanders, if found please return.0 -
