singhfello wrote:sorry but this isnt cheap at all. Firstly its not the ultrasharp tft, the video card is weak (x600 core is rubbish, and hypermemory means it steals 196mb from the system memory - it only has 64mb onboard) and the hard drive is not particulary large.
No sound card and a very average gfx card do take the shine off this deal. My gfx card alone cost me £350 and sound cost £100. Proves a point I think. Very good CPU and ram and screen but thats as far as it goes.0 -
The PDFs are coming in showing a 2.8GHz CPU (which is what the 920 should be) so, if you order, be prepared for an argument with Dell. What goes around - comes around0

Doesn't seem like a good deal to me, but thanks for posting

Bought this offer the other night and as supposed, the processor offered as a free upgrade was a mistake as when the confirmation came through, the processor listed was the lower spec one. Rang to complain yesterday and got nowhere so I cancelled.
Last night I sent disgusted email but got fobbed off so sent another one saying I was very upset at their stance.
Anyway, today I had a phone call saying that as there was a technical error with their site, they would honour my original order and I could have the better processor. Order confirmation has just arrived and it's on there!
Just looked at the website and same computer exactly today is £1495. I got mine for £898. Processor alone is over £500.
That is what I call a result!!!!!0 -
To their credit Dell will usually honour misprices on their websites - one of the very few providers who will do so.That is what I call a result!!!!!
Otherwise I wouldn't have a Dimension 5100, a Dimension 3000, a 19"TFT and two 17" TFTs, all of which were bought on "special" deals!
You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0
