Mine also arrived today, not had time to even think of setting it up yet but nothing in the box except the power lead. No cables, heck but who cares it seems from the manual to have everything I wanted and the price was good.

You don't get interactive services with any freeview boxes - there is no return path...0

Ops! I just had a good look in the box and mine is a customer return also >:(
The mains plug has a home printed sticker on saying freeview and the batteries were already in the remote, plus some scratches under the remote where its been used before.
I will try it to see if its dead but have already emailed CC to demand a replacement before Xmas.
What a way to do business. All Dell'd upseveral times over

Sounds like yours is in a worse state than mine. The batteries in my one were already in the remote, but little signs of any use elsewhere apart from a creased up manual!
I always thought that they wouldn't accept returns that have been opened, but looks like the distance selling regulations now mean they have to accept opened returns within 7 days. Hence a used product is shipped out. A bit like Argos really...
Let me know how you get on, if it is easy to get a replacement before Christmas (and they can guarantee an unopened one!) I may well do the same.0 -
Guess What......I got my mine delivered yesterday and my 1st thpought was that it was 2nd hand. Nothing was in packaging, just plonked in the box and someone had even wrote the lottery numbers from a few weeks ago on the back of the instruction manual.
I have emailed Comet to resolve this problem ASAP by either sending me a brand new one or giving a refund.
Nothing was stated on site to say these were reconditioned stock etc.
Let's see what reply I get......................0 -
I got a reply from Comet re my 2nd hand box, it was "sorry, take it to your local comet and ask them to change it for another."
I had asked for a new unit from them by soonest post and costs for returning the duff one.
Last thing I buy from them! If I wanted to fight with the Xmas shoppers I would have done so in the first place! All Dell'd upseveral times over

Did they refund your delivery charge?
I returned mine to a store but they said they could not refund the delivery charge and I would have to contact the helpline to see if this would be possible.
I settled on a replacement which they will be ordering in, and I am 'guaranteed' it will be a new one! Anyway we'll see how it goes...0 -
Damb right they refunded the delivery charge!
After ordering on line to save going to a shop they insist I have to drive to a shop to get an exchange, of course I got a refund, he says grinding his teeth!!!All Dell'd upseveral times over
