Fascinating reading, some big names in these lists, must admit watching some of these drop has been part of a huge learning curve for me.

There are several there that I think over the very long term are good buys. Yet there are others that will probably go bust.

Incredible to see mining companies like Kazakhmys and Rio Tinto in there.

This is going to keep me busy for weeks !

You want to be careful though, some of the biggest droppers will have racked up huge debts so could be vulnerable to total collapse if their bankers withdraw support.

The miners are interesting, they have fallen a lot but where they have good resources to mine, could quickly become takeover targets once money starts flowing

  • agreed re the debts and lending, its worth doing the investigating, finding out about the debt and any banking covenant dates etc. once the banks start lending again those that are marked down purely on debt will start to move.

I'm just curious as to which out of that list are most likely to go into administration and/or become insolvent

I tend to use This is Money to get this sort of info

Its not all bad news. I've made a nice profit on AstraZeneca this year, the ageing, and increasingly hard up population, are going to need drugs more & more......;)
