Egg - won't let me up my payments (anyone else had this problem?)

Two months in a row now I have logged in and changed my regular payment amount, yet they still keep taking the old amount. When I log in to check it seems my request wasn't saved.
Am I doing summat wrong? Or does this happen to other people too? (Perhaps they don't want me to pay the balance off faster?)
Thanks

Sounds like a technical glitch - you should send them a secure message.0

Not sure if this is still the case or if its even a factor in your case but you can't alter the payment amount between statement date and payment date.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -

That restriction only applies when changing the statement date / payment date, and even then it's a little more complicated as in some circumstances changes can be made during that time.
A Direct Debit can be changed at any time. But, if it's within five working days of the payment due date then it doesn't affect the current payment. In this instance the change is saved but doesn't take affect until the following months payment (it will change online after the current payment date has passed).
If it's not saving then something isn't happening right. Definately send them a secure message and/or phone them.
The online interface updates all the payment amounts overnight with the system that processes Direct Debits. By sending a secure message and/or phoning them they can go directly into the payment system and alter the amount, rather than relying on the automated update the online system does.0
