ipod nano help !

hi all ,
i brought my daughter a ipod nano for christmas ive downloaded videos and music through itunes via the usb cable but today nothing will work itune doesnt even reconise her ipod ??? and then she was playing a song and its froze on that song no sound or anything happening ???? can't even turn it off ??
any ideas ???

Try resetting the iPod by turning hold on and off, and then holding down the centre and menu button until it restarts.

is the ipod formatted to windows or a mac, as i recall when u purchased my nano it was fomatted for the mac!!!!!

I then had to reformat my iPhone when i brought a mac!!!! lol

marty j - ive tried that nothing happens its like its dead ??

Not exactly the same problem, but a week or so ago my ipod was playing fine but itunes/laptop wouldn't recognise it when plugged in. I had to hold down 'centre' button and 'menu', then hold down 'centre' button and 'play', then it worked fine.
