Have had excellent, courteous and prompt attention from NU Travel Insurance.
Myself and my family went to the States for Christmas, and whilst there my wife suffered from bronchitis and pharyngitis and visited a local walk in medical centre. She was diagnosed with these conditions by the doctor there, who gave her immediate treatment with a nebuliser, steriods and antibiotics. I paid $240 for the doctors fee, plus over the two weeks we were there another $240 on prescriptions. The doc said my wife could not fly until he had discharged her, and she needed to come back in a weeks time.
I only contacted NU after the visit to the doctors, but before our return home. NU immediately contacted the doc so that any subsequent consultations would be settled by them, relieving me of the financial burden in this regard. In the end two further consultations were required.
Upon our return I contacted NU to request a claim form to settle the charges I had paid out of my own pocket, which was duly completed and returned on 9/01/06.
Got a letter this morning saying that my claim would be paid in full and that funds will be transferred directly into my account.
I am very impressed with the level of service received, from my initial phone call whilst in the US, to their contact with the doc to arrange billing to NU, to the prompt handling of my claim. The service has been exemplary throughout and most helpful and supportive during what could have been a difficult experience.
