Grrr! Woolworth's have done me!

Went into a small Woolworths on Christmas Eve and bought a few CD's, mostly for a few quid but one, Bob Dylan was £5.98. I was a bit taken aback but as OH loves Bob Dylan, thought it was an extra little present! Stupidly didn't check on any of them. Found out after Christmas that it was empty!!! I have the flu so have spent a few days feeling very sorry for myself and OH daren't tell me the bad news he just broke the news yesterday. I have tried ringing the two stores nearest to us but no reply! Do I just have to take this lying down (literally!) or has anyone any idea if there is anything I can do about it please?

Are you sure that they haven't closed down? 400+ stores have closed on the last few days. Sadly I don't think that there will be much you can do about this if the stores have shut down :(

  • Well it could have been alot worse though. Could have been a Game or something costing £39.99+ I think they are almost all gone now unless your local one is still open

Thanks for your replies. That's what I meant - that these two stores must have already closed. Anyway, looking on the list (thanks very much zenseeker) one of them isn't shutting until 2 Jan. Another one I could travel to says its not shutting until 5 January!!! My next problem is that I assume they would believe me that the case was empty? Also, I suppose they won't give me the money back, I will have to try and find something for nearly 6 quid! Oh well, let's hope I have an honest face! I will have to get up off my sick bed now and make myself go out!!

I have no idea what the refund/exchange policy is with Woolworths now :( Good luck, I hope that you manage to get a good result.

I know our woolies had a big sign up saying no refunds, exchanges only :(
  • I got an xbox game from my local woolies on the 27th but it was faulty. The first person I tried to return it to in store said there are no refunds, but eventually because it was faulty the second person gave me my money back.
