I have Spybot but need to know if its working automatically even though it dosnt come up when I start up - thank you

Open up your task manager (Ctrl alt del) and if you find something that looks like it under process. (like S&D or spybot)
Or you can download CCleaner (another useful tool) and it has a tab which tells you which prgrams start on startupMinds are like parachutes - they only function when open.

Spybot only auto starts if the TEA TIMER mode is switched on (Which I personally hate)
Under general use its only needed to SCAN when you open it. Also use the IMMUNISE feature which prevents certain attacks:idea:0 -
The only part of Spybot which "is working automatically" is TeaTimer.exe - look for that in Task Manager, in the Process tab. The main part of Spybot is the on-demand scan which you initiate yourself.0
