Problems connecting Samsung mobile to PC

Hi all.
Even having already installed the "PC Studio" software, I can't establish a USB connection between my Samsung G600 and my PC. It always fails, requesting that a driver be installed. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, but to no avail, and reading other forums, it seems like a common problem.
Short of just using the card reader to transfer files, any ideas?

We didn't have any problems when we connected the phone on Boxing Day.
However the "PC Studio" software took an age to install as there were something like 335 updates to download!

We just got a good deal on a couple of G600s from Orange. The CD supplied with them didn't support Vista and we had to download a more recent version from the Samsung website. Even if you aren't running Vista, if you installed from CD, it might be worth uninstalling, then downloading the latest version of 'PC Studio'.There's love in this world for everyone. Yeah, it downloaded the hundreds of updates after the initial installation.
Though I installed from CD, I later uninstalled, and downloaded the latest software from the Samsung website.0
