Sorry
Was just trying to help.
My son has had a £45 giftcard for xmas and I wasn't aware of this until I read it just.:money: Martin Lewis Rocks!:money:0 -
Well the parent company in the USA has been making a loss for sometime but this has improved to a loss of $68million from $109million in Nov 07. So it seems the US parent is doing better, but if the UK stores won't take gift cards, it could be a problem with fakes or cash problems. Only time will tell.My Mind wanders, if found please return.0

Theres really low stock on line as well. Been looking for things for my son and nearly everything is listed as Out of Stock!0

They have pulled out of their Hong Kong business, they are reducing the number of international stores and have grown domestic stores.
If you look at their business, essentially the usa business is growing and making a greater profit. Their international business is shrinking and making less profit. I wonder if perhaps they are looking at which markets to exit - or shrink their footprint - the UK may be on the list for withdrawal or close non profitable stores since the uk highstreet is in such a mess and will probably continue as such until 2010 (IMO)
Or, if they are doing a stock take it may be as simple as wanting to have a low level of inventory?0 -
That doesn't really mean anything, our Woolworths had a refit at the end of November.
and SAP:mad: costing millions and millions

I was in my local toysrus yesterday (Bolton)and everything seemed normal. I wasnt using a giftcard so dont know if they were/not accepting them. Nobody mentioned it.
Stock levels were fine too, it was really rather busy! We had to wait in a que for 15mins waiting to collect an item but i must say the returns que was even longer. Was pleased as we got a 4ft football table for £35! instead of the £100 - then £60 on the price tag.
I'm sure if they were in difficulty then the news would have gripped hold of something by now.0 -
Very busy yesterday in Stockton branch too. plenty of stock on shelves and big queues with loads of people buying more toys!! Didn't appear to be closing here.0

Their definitely not going into administration. They don't order any new stock from 24 December because they have a stock check in the new year and want to limit the items needed to be counted, especially while stores are being refurbished because it means moving stock out of the store.0
