Is there an easy way to connect the Nintendo DS Lite to wireless router

I have just attempted to do this today and it worked ok. I know that the DS doesn't support WPA encryption only WEP. But when I clicked WEP in my Router admin page a list of other options came up which I didn't understand, so I just turned off the security completely for about 2 minutes, perhaps not even that. I know it isn't a good idea to do that.
Anyway when I come to change my settings back, my network connection manager kept saying that the wireless network settings didn't match the settings on the computer. In the end I had to reset the router and delete and re-add the network connection to my laptop. All is secure now.
Is there an easier/proper way of doing this? I have sky broadband with the standard netgear router they provide you with.
Thanks in advance.

ok it should work we had the same problem . WEP uses a hexadecimal key for example 0e876645456 thats all i changed on my router left the sky name in the ssd just changed the key and it worked ok .I take it the ds can see the router as an acces point0

My guess would be that turning the security off and on resets the WEP key. Copying the key before turning off the security would let you paste it back in after turning it back on. It should also be possible to back up your config before testing any changes and then reapply the config afterwards.
You shouldn't need to change your WEP settings to add the DS, but depending on the router you might need to find out the DS's MAC address and add it to your router's wireless access list.0 -
can you connect your PC directly to the router with an ethernet cable - that may make things easier regadring the WEP (the wired PC would bypass the wireless security).
But once you have WEP enabled on the router then both the DS and
the PC will need to be runnning WEP to connect (no choice with the DS)
If I remember you enter a password of your choise into the WEP settings and it coughs out a code which you need to enter into your DS connection settings.
When not using the DS then change the router back to WPA - it should remember its earlier (WPA) settings so its just a case of swapping the PC back to WPA aswellDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0
