I need a new mattress for a cotbed, does anyone know where I can get a good one that's not really expensive, also what's the best type to get?

Just to say its worth thinking how long it will be used for before you decide what to buy. My friend got one from argos with their junior bed and it was hammered within six months. I bought mine from mamas and papas and my daughter used it for two and a half years (first as a cot then as a little bed) and it looked as good as new when i just put it away in the loft! In my mind it was worth every penny.MTC NMP Membership #62 - made it back to size 12 after my children & I'm staying here!0

It will be used for several years, my first son was in the cotbed for 3.5 years and would still be in if we hadn't had #2. The mattress was in a bit of a state (stains etc!) so want a nice new one for the baby. Not planning any more anytime soon so he should be using it for at least the same as first son.0

I would buy mine again M&P Natural Fibre Mattress- it was faultless and the zip on cover protected the mattress despite the unavoidable vomit etc that happens with these things. The zip over cover was machine washable and dried really fast. Lovely natural breathable matress - not cheap however but in my opinion excellent value. I would use it again its immaculate!MTC NMP Membership #62 - made it back to size 12 after my children & I'm staying here!0

I would definitely recommend not getting a foam mattress and going for a sprung one.
