Sending receipts for deleted emails.

I have lots of SPAM emails every day, but just delete them as they arrive.
A few weeks ago when deleting one, a message came up saying the sender had requested a receipt when the email was deleted. I had three options – Accept, Ignore, Ignore All. I kept clicking ignore. Then I noticed on the message there was a window to click saying – ‘don’t ask me this again.’ So, in a moment of weakness, I clicked it. Thinking I would just not be asked again. But unfortunately, it seems I have given permission to send receipts without ever asking me again.
I know receipts are being sent – I see a ‘sending’ message in the bottom right hand corner of my mailbox – but can do nothing to stop them.
I have searched through the ‘receipts’ section – this only seems to discuss sending receipts when you receive an email. I am using Vista.
The amount of Spam I am getting now is crazy – and now, it seems I am sending myself spam – the majority are from my own email address.
Has anyone any ideas about this subject please? Or should I just change my email address?
