Costcutter supermarket

We only have a costcutter supermarket on campus, and all the other supermarkets are miles away.
The other day, me and my friends bought some mince and froze it on the day of purchase. When we came to use it, it had gone off! We then bought some more mince (we were in the middle of making shepherd's pie) and that was going off too!
And the milk goes off after 2 days, whereas if I go to Asda 4 pints lasts me a week.
And it's really expensive too.

Could you club together and order from a supermarket online?
It would save you money and they will normally deliver in a 2 hour time slot."This site is addictive!"

Did you check the use by dates?
If you did and they were within the date when they went off I'd take them back to Costcutters.
Really milk and meat should keep for slightly longer than their use by dates anyway so if they're going off before hand there could be something wrong with your fridge?0 -

I always check the dates to get the longest one. And I don't think it's our fridge as one packet of meat was frozen as soon as it was bought and Asda milk has no problems lasting for a week (or until I get scared because the use by date was several days ago).
Luckily we go to Asda mostly and only use Costcutter for small amounts of things, but it is annoying carrying your shopping on the bus. I will definitely look into internet shopping next term!Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

Costcutter is a franchise, so if there is a problem with any product it can be traced back to the supplier. You should take your stuff back, it could be that somewhere along the transport chain, someone hasn't been following the storage rules and this has caused the fresh products to spoil quicker than anything else.
Check [link=http://www.costcutter.co.uk/]Costcutter website[/link] to send an email if you are really concerned that the store is not up to scratch.
