i have upgraded to sky+ and so i have my old sky box as surplus. will it work in another room as a free view box? will it get the sky channels?

It will work as long as it has another input from your Sky Dish connected to it.
You will receive the free to air channels from Sky on it, slightly different to " Freeview " which is a different system.0
