Thanks for the encouragement Sis OBNW. I love the sound of the Sea Bass. We don't eat much fish but I think we should try to be a bit more adventurous. Your grocery budgeting is amazing! I'm not getting anywhere near that so must try harder. I'm going to go for £150 this month.

Have 10 minutes to spare before I get on with cleaning the bathroom so thought I'd pop on and update myself. Got up early this morning and cleaned out my fridge and freezer. Then did my meal plan for next two weeks true DFW style. OH helped and then we went shopping ..... Ahhhh the domestic bliss!
We are off to London next weekend so won't be food shopping hence the 2 week plan. I am so pleased that I have slowly reduced the amount of food I store in this house! It's a habit I inherited from my Mum. She always has tins and tins of stuff in 'just in case' ..... of what???
Have had an incredibly busy week and work but have stuck to the debt busting and the diet. I have lost 7lbs now but have done it slowly over 10 weeks as I want it to stay off. Next weekend will be a challenge in London but I am determined to have lost 21lbs by the summer so will be as good as humanly possible!
Have an exensive month, car is having a service and MOT next week and it's tax is due at end of month. DD's train pass is due for renewal - £125 a term! She also has a Geography trip to the Alps in July which has to be paid at the end of the month - £309! OH's birthday, SIL is 40 this week, niece is 2 at end of month and God Daughter's birthday is also this week. Will be glad to see April arrive and hope to still be solvent! Have done my budget to reflect all of this so confident we will be ok but it's such a lot to pay out!
I feel that I really need to be aking more overpayments but the bills keep rolling in. My budgeting is keping us from going overdrawn but we are still only making the min repayments on the debt. Everything is on LOB's now so the interest isn't as horrific as it was but even so I want to bring the DFD forward from 2012. April and May should be less expensive so will see what I can do.
Hope everyone is OK. Must get on with the bathroom now!

Hi there. I have been so busy at work that I just haven't had the energy to do anything else but something made me log on here tonight and it must have been the vibes coming from your kick in the pants OBNW!!!!
Although I've been missing from here I have stuck to the straight and narrow. All spreadsheets are up to date and spending is under control. Have had another very expensive month though. OH's birthday and we had a weekend in London - £19 Travelodge room for a Fri and Sat night and a reduced price trip to see Joseph .... but it's all of the extras that cost so much, tube tickets, eating and the like!!
My car also had it's service and MOT - £347 as it needed two new tyres for the MOT!!! It needs taxing next week too but at least I've budgeted for that and also DD's Geography trip to the Alps had to be paid for - £309 this week (luckily also budgeted for). It does feel so much better to have budgeted than feel the panic of wondering if it will take you overdrawn.
Have been feeling a bit low over the last week or so - can't work out why though. Work has been very busy and I do feel tired so maybe it's just that. Feeling much more positive after this weekend of sunny weather though - and the clocks go forward next weekend so lighter nights!!
Had a lovely Mothers Day today. Went to my Mum's for lunch with OH and kids, my brother and his daughter. It was lovely. Kids were very DFW and made me cards with poems in them - the best I've ever had.
Hope you are OK OBNW. I'm off to check how you've been doing on your diary. See you in a minute.

Time for an update as I've been a bit remiss lately! Work has been so busy I've hardly had time to sleep let alone visit this site .... but I have missed it. Logged on yesterday to find it was closed for updates!
On holiday for a couple of weeks now so have no excuse for not being an active DFWer. It's been a hard month financially. OH's birthday, car MOT, tyres, Tax and then OH's car needed new parts so another £150 that wasn't planned for. Also wireless router broke so has to replace that! DD1 also wanted her 18th birthday present early (it's in Aug) and wanted a ticket to the Reading Festival - £175!!!
We have managed not to go overdrawn but I do relate to you OBNW with having lost my motivation a little. I'm just hoping to reach a point where there are no 'unexpected' bills and I can stick to my budget.
Easter holidays are upon us and the cost of the kids being at home is dawning on me. Extra food, little activities, heating being on (it's really cold here today) ..... I'm becoming such a scrooge! It's also lovely to have 2 weeks off to spend some time with them and to de-clutter my house. Must visit that thread!
Feeling more cheerful since my last post (although I seem to be moaning a lot in this one!). Have managed to get on top of work, passed my college course, lighter nights are here and feeling much happier. Just want to get debt paid off and all will be well with the world!
Hope everyone is ok and that you are safely back from Scotland OBNW.
