It makes for such a miserable experience to be re-focused on becoming debt free and going to town with OH!!!! I have spent the morning trying not to spend money that we don't need to and it was really hard when there was temptation all around him. He had a voucher for Xmas but what he wanted needed extra money adding to it, then he had his eyes tested (which I accept was due) and he needs reading glasses .... £135 not budgeted for!!!!!!

He then wanted to meet his daughter on her lunchbreak from work and buy her lunch ..... I refused to spend £3.50 on a sandwich so just had a cup of tea while he spent £12 on food for them (again not budgeted for so coming out of the food budget).

Ok I'll stop being mean now and on the plus side I got dishwasher tablets with 100% extra for free with Tesco clubcard vouchers, only paid £1 for the whole day's parking by walking a bit further (also good for weight loss), got a £10 Argos voucher by returning an unwanted gift (which I'll use for something later in the year when I need it) and got a nice birthday card for OH's Mother at a sale price.

Having a storecupboard tea to make up for lunch! Hoping not to have to do a food shop this week and use up what we have from Xmas.

It is totally amazing the difference it makes to have your DFW head back on and not want to spend money!!! I'm going to avoid town with OH at all costs for the rest of the year! :rotfl:

Looking forward to an NSD tomorrow .... we are staying in!
