Oh, I was going to say just put little drops of water and dab at it gently, changing the area of the cloth you're using so that you're only picking the ink up and not putting it down again.

I try to avoid carpet cleaner or rubbing the mark until I am absolutely certain I'm not going to get anymore of the colour out any other way. :o There's a real danger of simply rubbing the stain into more of the fibres.

  • do you know what the carpets made of.?

if its pp you can use just about anything including bleach so i.m told.

i've used various and harsh chemicals on mine

There was a product demonstrated on qvc today, its called stains r out, it got every stain out imaginable, its banana oil, it got engine oil, spray paint out etc, sorry not good with links...worth a try perhaps...
  • i dont know if you want to risk this...but when my daughters pen burst in her blazer pocket, hairspray took the ink out.

I just sprayed and blotted it with kitchen roll again and again.

  • If it were still wet this would help. Could still help if you really wetted it. This works for all wet spillages in a carpet and works miracles for red wine.

Whilst the stain is wet, get a big bath towel you don't care about. Fold it up and put it on the stain and put all your weight on it. Refold the towel to a clean patch, put it on the stain, put all your weight on it. Keep doing this, again and again, until you are way beyond bored with it and until it sucks all the offending liquid out of the carpet. If there is anything left try stain remover. I've got red wine completely out of a cream carpet doing this.

Ink is probably water based so it might be worth really soaking it with water and trying this.
