motor insurance question

I wonder if anyone can offer any advice please. My daughter was waiting behind a car at a junction when the car in front of her reversed into her, (after pulling out a little then changing mind, daughter had not moved). Details were exchanged and the Third Party insurance accepted their policy holder was at fault and wrote off daughters car and paid a reasonable amount for it. Daughter did not, and could not, claim off her own insurance (TPFT) She is currently looking to renew insurance and some forms ask if she has had any accidents and some ask if she has made a claim and some ask about either/both!
I know she was involved in an accident, but not sure if she made a claim or if the TP policy holder was the claimant? Even though she was entirely blameless, it seems her insurance premiums will go up. She has 2 years ncd and is 22 yrs old. Speaking to the insurers may be the best way to go!
Anyone had a similar experience?

Yes she has been involved in an accident and needs to declare that, even though it wasn't her fault. There'll be an option then for "Not at fault - all costs recovered from third party". She shouldn't be penalised.

what your daughter had is called a non-fault claim - also called a claim with full recovery.
It may affect her premium but it won't affect her NCD since her insurance made a full recovery of all money and weren't left out of pocket.

Thanks for your advice. She did not make a claim on her own insurance as she only had TPFT. The lady who reversed into her contacted her own insurance company and they in turn contacted my daughter and were very efficient and provided a replacement car while they examined daughters car and then wrote it off. Having filled in online forms for insurance, even when you put in not at fault and no loss of ncd it does seem to have an upward effect on the premium! This seems so unfair, daughter was unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time and did nothing wrong but will still be financially penalised for it!! It seems if you are involved in any accident you are an increased risk regardless of the circumstances.
She is ringing insurance company when she gets in from work to discuss with a real person rather than try to compete with computerised forms!.
