Older TV is not working with Freeview box

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!
I have just bought myself a set up box for my old reliable Pye TV.
I have connected the box via scart to the TV according to instructions.
I am getting sound but picture is scrambled though the colors are very sharp compared to what i have with my aerial so it is picking up something. I have not had any problems using this TV with a gamecube or VCR.
I am not sure if its because my TV is old and as there is no button to change to AV like our other telly.
please advice.

Five things to try in order:
0. check you have your TV on the AV channel (usualy 0 - it will say 0/AV on the remote generally)
1. Push the scart lead ends in very firmly
2. Try swapping the cable around
3. Try another cable
4. Plug the freeview box into a TV that does work temorarily and changel "RGB" to "Composite" in the setup menu is available, then put back on old TV.0 -

The color was a bit funny kinda like sepia. I changed it as you advised to Composite and its now very clear. Thanks I can now get the TV guide out....0
