Closing down and payment via Paypal? Surely that's a little risky? Anybody ordered from here before?

Me? I have. It says people have placed orders based on this. Doesn't say they've previously made orders does it?

Apologies if I am being a bit stupid and missing something here - I don't get you - what's the difference between "placing" and "making" an order? Because posts 4, 7 and 11 all state people have placed orders.

Or are you saying people have only placed orders because of "this" being the closing down sale, in which case the answer is no. The closing down sale is news to me; I ordered a while back (as per post 4) off recommendation elsewhere (can't remember where - may have been MSE, HUKD or one of those sites Mrs Harper haunts!)

I bought a Samonsite travel cot which arrived very promptly. And yes I paid by PayPal.

(this incidentally went out of stock last time, and they have them back but for a bit more than I paid - still good at £20)

    I'll rephrase then.

Its a website I don't know, which is closing down, and which is taking payment via Paypal. Does anybody have a history of ordering with them as my concern is said unknown website could fold tomorrow and I may not be covered if I use Paypal?

    Howzat?

OK - but I've answered that haven't I? Yes - I've bought from that very same website using PayPal and not had a problem. i.e. they exist and they do ship out the goods. I've was VERY imperssed with how quickly the thing arrived, in fact.

They're using Paypal in the same way a lot of small companies do in the US. It's expensive for them but cheaper than the big ecommerce payment solutions for low volumes.

I read your posts as having just placed orders rather than having a history of using the site.

For most physical goods you are covered by Paypal. However, if a company has gone under, I suspect it could get a bit more complicated if they have no money.

I'm still unclear on what the difference is between what you asked and what i answered, but I shan't let it bother me... :)

I have a small history of positive experience from ordering and receiving goods from there.

You will always have difficulties when a company has taken money from you and they go under, and yes things are greyer with Paypal but much less grey than they used to be!
