What fruit/veg can I plant at this time of year?
Hi
I started growing my own veg last year - around May, so I haven't yet completed my first full year.
I just wondered if there is any fruit or veg that I can grow in pots outside yet? Everything I grew last year was in hanging baskets or pots because that is all I have space for and it did really well, but now I am down to my herbs which I have brought inside and put them on the window sill because they weren't doing so well anymore.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
thanks

I would hang fire for a while yet, have you seen the predicted temps for the UK during the next 2 weeks, -13 degrees!!!!!!!!0 -
Eeeek!!! That's not good

I only started growing last year, but I really miss popping out of my back door for a handful of spinach or a few strawberries. I definitely have the bug
I have the Thomson and Morgan catalogue (not sure what others are good) so I'll have to be happy with planning for the time being.
Thanks

Glad everyone is coming to me on New Year's Eve after reading that article
As much as I would love to go to Scotland to see the New Year in one time, I am glad I won't be there this year :eek:0 -

Thanks TW. I will take a look - the site seems to be down at the moment (or is my laptop just overworked?) so I will try again later.
I am after advice on anything I can grow inside on the windowsill, or outside in pots. I like your post on potatoes, and I will give that a try with my two little ones this year.
Thanks

Hi
Have you considered sprouting seeds? rather than mung beans, try alfalfa or radish for spicy sprouts for salads and sarnies.
You could also go cut and come again lettuce on the window sill right now.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
