Hi all,
I am having trouble removing the retaining nut that holds the ballcock assembly in the toilet system. I can get the nut off that holds the water pipe connection, but the other nut wont budge - i cant get my adjustabe wrench on to it to get a good grip.
Can anyone recommend a suitabe tool to help?

Use water pump grips, never, ever fails.
If it does however, then use a junior hacksaw if possible to cut through the nut.0 -
Thanks, think i will take a trip to buy some water pump grips tomorrow. I will eave the hacksaw till last resort!0

if it's a plastic nut underneath the cistern, there is a plastic special tool for this.
i got one at b&q for pocket money and it did the job wonderfully. try asking someone at the diy shop for the right tool for the job.0 -
the pound shop sells water pump pliers. best to buy two pairs.
BQ sell em for a fiver each.
sometimes the nuts seize up so bad that brute force is required. hence the hacksaw etc...Get some gorm.0 -
someone was on earlier about a loo that wouldn't flush, you are not connected to them are you????Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

No i was not connected to them. finally managed to hack saw it off! It was a very small sized retaining nut. The new one has a larger area so can get a grip with better!0
