Yikes, I checked the best butlins price for 3 nights in budget, for september 4th when we will be booking with the sun.
It's 222, or 275 half board.
With the sun it will be £38 (and £21 service charge, £36 entertainment, £10 linen) = £105 or £95 if we take our own bedlinen. Half board would add £120 for the 4 of us for 3 days.
It's MUCH cheaper with the sun but in term time it's often cheaper to book directly with the parks.52% tight0 -

sept 4th IS term time surely ? lol
but sept IS a very popular / expensive time
as is June apparently0 -
we don't go back to school until tuesday sept 8th, so sept 4th is a school hols break for us. we can't have the july one because we're still at school. we usually get the 17th july-ish date but this time school doesn't finish until 22nd.52% tight0

Are these sun tokens worth collecting? I have been on the sun website and they say if you are a family of less than 4 then you will be charged £38 for the absence of the forth person?
Ive never sent off for these before but heard grim reviews about pontins and not sure what to do...I know this probably sounds daft but Im wary of "things that come cheap"hope I dont sound rude???:o

hmmm .... pontins - look at the threads about the free holidays, people left early and they hadn't paid a penny for the holiday :rotfl:
Last year I booked a weekend at butlins through the sun, but won a free pontins holiday for 3 weeks before the butlins one. They were like chalk and cheese, so it depends what you like. I loved both holidays, so did the toddler, but my husband and eldest both hated pontins and said can I please not win any more free holidays there
If a free pontins holiday comes up I have said I will go with the toddler (I really enjoyed our traditional seaside holiday there), and husband and eldest can stay at home. Having been there I have to say I wouldn't pay for pontins though, not when there are other parks on offer.
Which pontins are you looking at? perhaps people can recommend other parks in the area.52% tight0 -
Hope I did that correctly!
We've been on these before and they do end up costing more than £38 by the time you've added in the electricity and/or entertainment passes - however, they do still work out cheaper than booking direct (not always, but mostly). We've gone in the past - but not in the last two years, so doubt we'll receive priority notification. I'd love to take our two children away - and hubby is on annualised hours and can not book holiday and is working most of the school holidays this year. So I'm hoping lots of you have forms that you don't require

Hey, just a quick question. I bought the news of the world today expecting there to be a token. I can't see one. Am I missing it or are there just no tokens on Sundays?
Thanks,

I have been going on these holidays for years, sometimes twice a year. Some sites are excellent and I tend to stick to the same ones. I have only been to one that was awful and funnily enough that was a Pontins! Haven are always good, and although I have never been, a lot of people say the ones in France are good. Last year I went to a Haven Park in June for which I paid less than #100 with the Sun. I met a lady there who had booked direct and paid nearly 500 and her accomodation wasn't as nice as mine! Definately a bargain.
