Hi there, We tried craig tara last October and were a bit disappointed with the cleanliness of the site. The caravan was basic but okay. The place was absolutely heaving so access to the pool was crowded. We used the bus into Ayr to go out for a meal at night using wetherspoon vouchers so cheap and delicous plus we could have a drink or 2.We're thimking of trying seton sands or possibly grannies heilin hame this year.HTH

me too, i can only go during May half term as both my children are doing their SATS this year at school so i cant take them out of school before May, if i dont get that date then i will be going for the £15pp holidays, I dont fancy Feb half term.

what about oct half term ?

might be cold, but then again....
we had much better weather in the half term oct 07 than we did in may 08 ( rained non stop and flooded!!)
  • Right Ok, so is a bonus code iether LINE or BAND if so can we only use one of these codes?
do i have it right now?:D

    Yep :)

These are the two bonus codes, I believe. The 'Starter' is essentially a bonus code

All you really need to be sure of is that you've got 7 codes that have been printed as numbered token, in the paper. At worst, you'll have a spare code then :)

We had terrible rain on a july holiday once, when tewkesbury was flooded. We were stuck on the motorway for around 9 hours, but got to butlins at midnight - others were on the motorway overnight

By the way my mum has had a letter about free entertainment passes (but I haven't - grrr!) and it's in her name, but their booking form is in dad's name. The letter says you have to have the holiday in your own name if you want to use the free entertainments code.

So, mum called them and they say to use dad's number to get into the online booking site, but then change the details to mum's name as the lead name, and then she'll be able to use her free ents code.

I found the info on the butlins linen charges on the sun website under the skegness bit...

' Bed linen, pillows and duvets can be provided for a charge of £10 per person per break, which will be added to your confirmation, to be paid in advance of your holiday. '

The butlins price i got was an offer they have on at the minute. half price plus an extra £20 off.

..for 11th may, 4nights in silver. £40pp.. plus an extra £20 off until monday.

have to agreed :-) great park, went last year

And another vote for the Haven Caister park here :)

Even though I got a priority form think I'll be booking direct with an owner instead this time. We don't need school holidays it so its a better deal to book direct, definately better to use the £9.50 deal if you need school holidays though.

Good luck to everyone, hope you get the dates/locations you want.

We've got school on that date. It's a good price though!

I'm pretty sure we have only been charged £10 per unit, not per person for linen. I went to butlins in july last year on a 3-day £15 holiday and I paid £125 total including linen.

  • I'm wondering if they are actually classing the Starter token as a bonus token, as if the website is open tomorrow, it depends if there is an actual numbered token in the NOTW or if its a bonus. In the last few years, the tokens in the NOTW have all been Bonus tokens, in which case, we wouldnt be able to use it, and if I remember correctly, I have always used a bonus token and a starter token, and they have always said that you cant use more than 1 bonus token. Worth trying all the codes we have now, as soon as it opens up on the website, as it stands, we do have 8 codes, and officially it does state "stater" on one and "Bonus" on the other aswell as the 6 numbered ones. Worth a go.
We are also hoping for May Half Term, we are all gonna have to be quick aren't we??!!
if you cant have what you want, be grateful for what you have :T

If they were charging £40 for linen you'd have the option of not paying it though - you pay the £38 when you book but the rest of the charges come on an invoice later, directly from the park.

My parents take their own linen, but if you're travelling by train etc. it's still probably cheaper to nip to asda and buy smart price bedding :rotfl:

I don't know about butlins, but at haven they supply a bare pillow and duvet, and the linen charge is for the sheet, duvet cover and pillowcase. We've taken our own linen before, it depends on boot size etc.

we went to minehead on a sun hol last august, and were charged £10 in total for linen.
and beds were made up on arrival

theres no way i would have paid £10 PER PERSON!! lol
