annual boiler service

Does anyone know what an average price for an annual boiler service is? If it makes any difference, (sorry, bit dim when it comes to things in the house), it's a Vaillant make and it's just over a year old. We no longer have a hot water tank so does that make a combi boiler?
It's wouldn't have not wouldn't of, shouldn't have not shouldn't of and couldn't have not couldn't of. Geddit?

Good afternoon: My OH charges £55 for the first annual service on a Vaillant combi (Ecotec Pro or Plus) plus parts ,if required, down here in East Kent. Who ever you get in, make sure he/she follows Vaillant's servicing protocol as detailed in the manual (available online from Vaillant if you don't have a copy) and records this in your Benchmark Service Log to maintain your warranty.

Now you mention it, it's an Ecotec Pro (can't be bothered to get off my chair to check but sure it is). I didn't know about the manual so thanks for the good advice.

Canucklehead, can I ask you another question, please?

Is VAT additional to your quoted price? The reason I ask is that I'm looking to get some Boiler breakdown cover with either BG or Homeserve and I can't make up my mind whether to go with the 'includes annual service price' or not.

    Thanks.

Edit: Actually, forget the above question, I've just been reading some other threads on here about breakdown service and it's not reading too good!

Is there a website that shows a list of Corgi registered people that do annual boiler services in your local area?

£45 including VAT for the annual service and landlords cert for my combi.
  • The OP could look on the CORGI website to find engineers near their postcode and ring them to get a price.
We charge £50+vat for a boiler service (that also puts customers onto our books and they will get looked after by us if they have any problems - provided they reply to their annual boiler service reminder letter)!!

That's exactly what I did, phoned ten people and got quotes ranging from £80 to £150 per gas appliance.

The average price seemed to be £90 so I just went with the guy who could fit me in the soonest.
