Hi I have had a egg loan (which i have confirmed applied online ) since 2007 may and due to finish in march 2009
and I have ppi on my loan.
I have never claimed on loan in the 2 year period and I know Egg was recently fined by the big uns ( do i stand a better chance?) and I am claim the ppi costs.
I did speak to someone over the phone and they said because i applied online its was up to me (yes or no) and how can it be misled when i chose to??
Im now in two mind in applying thinking do i stand a chance?
has anybody had any success claiming from egg who had applied online??
appreciate any feedback.
Many thanks.

Hi there
If you feel you have cause to complain and that you were mis sold the ppi for some reason then I would try to reclaim the PPI on this.
Check this link out here:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
Check the info out on the PPI and there is a list of mis selling reasons, no matter how you were sold, but if any of those reasons occur to you then go for it.
There is also a letter template on the link and they have 8 weeks to respond in full.
Another letter maybe required or they may suggest the Financial Ombudsman service on a final response.
Try to add as much info as you can to back your case and post by recorded delivery.
Please let us know how you get on so we can help you with this.
Good luck;)

Hi I have the same problem I applied for an Egg card online but prior to this telephoned them for advice and was told I had more chance of being accepted if I tool out the insurance. I cancelled the PPI a couple of months ago as my payments are not reducing despite paying more than the minimum amount.
Is it worth applying for my money back as I feel I was mislead.0 -

Hi there hun
And yes still try, afterall you may as well have kept the insurance going, its so wrong isn't it how this is done.
Write to them and explain your situation here and complain you feel you were mis laid, they have 8 weeks to put this right for you, if they do not then take your complaint to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), let us know how you get on first then we can help guide you step by step.
Just a short question or 2 here:
Was you aware and happy with the insurance when you had taken out the loan?
Or did you assume it was part of being accepted for the loan?
If this is the case you may have a good case of complaining that you believed it was mis sold to you, however, only if you think you were you could write to complain and reclaim this way.
Check this out here:

If any of this occurs to you then write to them with the help of the template on that link they again have 8 weeks to respond in full.
Post by recorded delivery as this is also your proof of evidence, then let us know in order for us to help you through this case.
Good luck;)

Thanks for the advice, I was aware of the PPI but was advised by phone to take it out in order to get accepted so i accepted on line on the basis of this.
