Dimmer for Transformer low voltage lighting

Hoping someone can advise

I purchased this light
http://www.johnlewis.com/230409832/Product.aspx

Which uses G4 bulbs that run off a 12v transformer.

My current dimmer won't work with this but have found that a trailing edge dimmer may work.

Thinking of the one below

Does anyone know if this type of dimmer would work ?

It looks as if it will do, but a quick email or phone call would confirm it for sure. The John lewis site does not appear to say what type of transformer is supplied with the fitting.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Just read the instructions and the light says not suitable for use with a dimmer

Is that just to cover themselves or does it mean it won't work even with a trailing edge dimmer.

Would it help if looked at the type of transformer by talking the light off.

Best to give them a ring. You might have to buy a different transformer.

Chances are it is an electronic transformer rather than wire wound - not all electroic transformers can be dimmed. Are there any stickers on the fitting, it would normally state on a transformer if it can be dimmed.
