How do I share internet access in a house

I subscribe to PlusNet for wired broadband which I use on a PC upstairs with a D-Link external modem for internet.
We now also have a laptop and a 2nd desktop PC downstairs.
How can I use the internet on the downstairs machines ?
What additional equipment would I need to buy and is it easy'ish for a non-techie to set up ?
TIA

You need a router to share the connection between PC's. They give them out free to new customers so ask for one. Easy to configure. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

To point best bet would be a wireless router..I see plusnet do offer one, depending on your contract. Suggest giving them a call. Obviously your machines downstairs would need a wireless adapter to connectMortgage when started: £127,500

Just make sure you get the modem router rather than cable router or else it wont work.
If your ISP doesnt give you a router than Netgear ones are quite nice and easy to configure and so are D-Link.
I had a netgear which sometimes played with my ISP (Orange) but now I have a Linksys and it's absolutely fine.
Instructions for setting up a router are in the box and very easy to set it up.

Thanks everyone.
Emailed Plusnet after your suggestion and they're sending one out. Just paying the P&P
