PPI mis sold on Halifax loan want to re claim - help

Options
Hi there Xmas MSEers

I am thinking of trying to relclaim the PPI sold to us on a loan for approx £20k by Halifax in 2006, I have the old account number but dont know where to start.

We only had the loan for about 8 months and paid it off as we remortgaged but I recall when the conversation about the payments came up we were told we couldnt have the loan without the insurance - isnt that mis selling ?

Has anyone any experience of reclaiming with Halifax ?

We also had loans from Nationwide and Cahoot within the past six years and paid PPI on these, we dont have the account numbers though, can we still reclaim and if so where would we get the account numbers ?

Many thanks

K xx

I have reclaimed 3 times from the halifax.
1 - Personal Loan (one that was paid off 4 years ago)
    2 - Overdraft Charges
3 - PPI sold on credit card.

Each time the same routine was followed:

    1. Send in Data Access Request letter
    2. Send in first letter asking them to refund money that is due.
    3. Letter received they are investigating.
    4. Letter received that (without admitting liability) they will provide me a refund
    5. Cheque for the outstanding amounts received.

I've claimed over £10K from the Halifax alone on the 3 products.

Go for it....you should have no hassle.
  • does anyone know if Halifax unsecured loans are good since i heard from my Father that it isn't very good from the news since someone didn't read the fine print and they couldn't afford to pay off the loan with the interest?

Perhaps this would be better posting in the loans section of the pure money. May get a better response.;)
