Debenhams Internet Order Never Arrived

It has been two months since I placed an order through the Debenhams website and I have not received any goods. I have sent numerous emails and have phoned a number of times just to receive useless conflicting information. I called and said that I had waited long enough and no longer wanted the goods (they had been intended as a Christmas present) and asked to cancel and have the money refunded to my credit card. They then said that they have to carry out a full investigation before I can get a refund. How long do I have to give them for this investigation? They just keep saying they have no information and will contact me when they do but they don't seem to be keeping me informed of the progress of this investigation. I would appreciate any advice people can give me or perhaps you have experience of a similar situation that you could share with me.

Debenham's must have the worst Customer Services and website of any major hight street store. If it's any consolation, I bought some glassware last Christmas (2004) and I'm still waiting for them to answer e-mails.
In the heat of the moment, I ordered stuff in this year's sale and had to cancel it straight away because the security was awful, and I'd no idea what I had paid.
Most of it turned up

Good luck with this.
But why should they have to carry out a full investigation before you are issued with a refund? They should be able to see that you havent received the items you ordered and issue you there and then with a refund. Kick up a stink, and say if they dont issue you with a refund you are going to contact your credit card company and ask them to sort it.Weight Loss - 102lb0
