in Credit cards
I made a payment to my barclaycard on 26th dec from my halifax current account using faster payment service. The payment left instantly and I got an e-mail from halifax confirming it was sent.
It is now 29th and still not showing on my barclaycard
Does anyone know if there is delay during bank holidays ???

I have noticed this with Barclaycard and Co-op Visa.
My bank lets me make a faster payment to them (saying it has been accepted) but it is still 3-5 working days before the funds appear on the card account......robbing banks:mad:0 -
Although Faster Payments will send on a weekend / bank holiday, the receiving bank will not be able to allocate the payment until they are open - depending on whether they do this on a same day or next day basis means it should either show on the account today or tomorrow. Probably..0

Same thing here. Made a faster payment to Capital One on Friday but it is still not showing. In normal circumstances it takes at least one day before credit card balances will update anyway. The weekend may also add days before credit card systems 'book' payments received in the meantime to individual accounts.
Your FP should, though, be given 'credit' from the date sent when it does finally appear......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -

Massive fan of the FP service. Always takes minutes, somtimes a few hours but it really is fast. Mentioned it to the 'girl' in my local BOS last week and she'd never heard of it. She was keen to talk about how she got her tan.0 -
Do not rely on FP to pay a credit card as most credit card providers do not yet have the infrastructure in place. For example, Co-op Bank outsource their credit card processing & receipts are routed through a nightly update process. Plus the sort code is not enabled for FP as yet for this reason.
MBNA process their payments through the Co-op bank & similarly will not be Faster Payable for some time yet. Cap One will have an arrangement along similar lines with a different Clearer.Ethical moneysaver0 -
Ulster Bank (part of RBS) said on a few statements ago that FP has been enabled for credit card payments. Don't trust it though so will rely on my minimum payment DD and top up payments via cheque in branch which is just down the road from me.0

Cap One sort code 44-83-91 not even recognised by the APACS sort code checker!Ethical moneysaver0

Barclaycard does accept Faster Payments now, and payments made on a week day before 4pm (6pm from a Barclays account) will normally be credited the same day. Payments made on a weekday after 4pm (or 6pm for a Barclays account) will be credited the next working day.
Note: This applies only to Barclaycard Visa and Mastercard personal cardholders. Barclaycard Business payments made by Faster Payments are usually credited the next working day.
