RIGHT.....Please dont throw anything at me but.....could I have some advice please...

On monday I start my saving for christmas 2009...Leaving some money in the bank for xmas, school uniforms...The usual big things that hit us...I have a resolution to not waste money at all....I've always made my own casseroles, pies, curries and extras so food is good and we dont waste anything there....Has anyone got any other tips for me please...I'm also hoping to pick up few Items for LO in the sale as I'm starting my Xmas cupboard which is the pressie cupboard and my hamper box starting with tins(will be checking dates) and bottle items....I dont want to go getting a loan like i did this year as it was awful.....ANY TIPS...

Oh and forgot i will be puttin any wins in cupboard as well.....I did that with couple of sophie's items and would have done it with the Forever friends items but kids were there when it came...
why would we throw things at you, I am already thinking for this year, I organise fetes etc at the schoola and always thinking ahead, I buy my food shopping online, but found that when I go to the supermarkets, especially in the morning they are reducing items, I always pick up any f/r chicken, meat that I can freeze, my oh popped into the coop the other week and came home with loads of fresh pasta, 2 for 99p reduced, it can be frozen.
My veggie soup is a w/w receipe if you want it, chicken can be added as I do that for my hubbie.
Asda are doing ragu pasta sauces at the moment £1.23 each or 2 for£1, yes it is right.

Thanks cathy...Yeh we got quite a few of the Ragu last week and gave reece a couple to take back....Hubby makes the Lamb hotpot which is lovely.....I do most asda shop online as i find i know what is going to cost but if i go in the car when john gets home from work i tend to spend more....
Last year i had started a hamper in the bottom of wardrobe which ended up so big we hardly had to buy anything and I even sent reece home with lots whereas this year didnt bother and now wish i had...I had to have a Loan for christmas as johns boss told them they lost all overtime for good on October 17th and we lost around £90 per week...I never wanted to get a loan but my kids come first and i couldnt have given them nothing.

I wouldnt mind that recipe for the veg soup if you dont mind...Cheers cathy
