Hi. I have been receiving Martin's emails for a while now and from time to time have a look at the forums. Clearly I too want to start winning prizes in competitions and although I can see the links to the various comps I can't find where you have all started from?!! Does this make sense?? How do you go about joining a certain group e.g. for last year. . .win £2008 in 20008?? You all seem to have won . . . and indeed continue winning. . . stacks of stuff. How???!!! Do you literally enter every competition every day?? Is there a thread for people starting off? Am I being trully thick?? Just had my third child so maybe my post pregnancy brain is playing tricks on me?? Can anyone out there help me?? Please??!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: No, you're not being thick - it does take a while to get to grips with everything.
The best advice I can give is to read VelvetGloves fantabulous comping guide on the main comps board - what isn't in there isn't worth knowing!

I just comp for pleasure so only enter comps for things I or my family will like or can use.

Again, on the main comps board is this years challenge 'it will be mine in 2009' - which you can join.

Thanks. Have just found that and am printing it out so that i can peruse it at my leisure whilst feeding baby in the morning!! Still getting to grips with finding my way around this fab site!

Welcome to comping!
Congratulation on your baby! Don't worry, I know what you mean!
On this compers inn, everyone who does comps can come and talk to each other about anything really!

There are currently about 180 pages of comps available! They are moved to the game over board daily if the closing date has finished, so aim to enter all comps before the closing date!
Everything is explained in the above link called:
the comping guide, and how to find comps ending by date!

You have to enter literally every comp to even have a chance of winnng the "bigger prizes!" That said, there are several compers (myself included!) who have entered loads, and won next-to-nothing, so wins aren't guaranteed!
Its just a case of being patient and persevering!

Just add what 3 prizes you want to win, and the board guides will put your name down on this years challenge!
