  • It must be very awkward if it has to be exact times, what would happen if he wanted to go on school holidays or to friends for the night? I suppose when he gets a little older he might be able to do it himself.

I know it might be awkward but is there a member of staff who could do it for him at 8 to keep it to the times, somewhere private like the toilets or somewhere or do you think it would be too much?

no wouldnt want that and doubt they or ds would like that, only solution is moving the insulin to 8.30 but that means its 8.30 all the time but then he doesnt finish til 8,30 so wouldnt be in til 8.45 and he will be shattered as he will still need his snack, need to phone his nurse i think, cant get my head round it:rotfl:

Was even (GET THIS< POLICE CALLED) thrown out of chemist asking for help, reported as a drunk. God rest his soul now, he long gone but would have been 80 now, sadly left us at 58.

yeah very tricky, better if it wasnt in his butt but thaty type of insulin has to be done in diff area than his other ones, which are done in the legs, he doesnt have a lot of fat in his tummy area, lost all that when he was diagnosed and never put on any since

he had a school residential this summer with the school, in may i think and havent put him down for that as it would be too much work for the school and wouldnt trust them on caring for my son that length a time, for 1 week, would have loved to get onto one of those diabetes uk hols for a week but will have to see

PPD thats lovely. I been wed 40 years, been togeter since I was 15 and I 60 this march. He loves the ground I walk on still, Protects me and I know would die for me but he has never touchjed an iron in his life, would get into an unmade bed and give me egg & chips ,egg & bacon,Jacket spud, or a b*****d roast forever if I couldnt do it fer meself. You got a gem there, treasure him. My DH says I'm a treasure & his m8s say where did you dig her up from.
  • Princess I know it's different but my eldest has servere asthma, took a long time for me to let her go on school day trips with her inhaler but slowly I let her & now she takes it everywhere - I had one of her friends Mum's text me other day when she was down there to say was she ok to do it herself cos she'd never seen one before & was amazed how relaxed my DD was doing it herself. She's 9 now, has been on inhalers since she was about 10 month old.

My LO on the other hand, I know she's only 2, but I'm dreading her going away on school trips etc already because of her allergies but I know time will tell how easy/hard it will be.

  • HI Princess Pixidust,
Got a question for you re the adventure hol you posted in the postal thread.
I was telling a friend [shes a non comper!] about it and she was going to enter, but as she normally doesnt enter competitions was afraid shed get bombarded with texts from that no. I could only assure her that I havent in the past.

So I was wondering if there was any details in the fine print eg if....text STOP to XXXXX? or something like that! Or where did u get the mag and maybe she could pick one up!

Onbelhalf of my friend, who yes, is mad enough to enter:rolleyes: - thanks for posting the comp!:A
