Evening all. OH was late finishing work again so was late home. Then went on the exercise bike (too cold to run again, still -3!!) and did just over 9 miles in 50 mins - perhaps I should have done the 10 miles and/or 1 hour but I was listening to Bon Jovi Crossroads and it finished!! :):):) Just running a bath and then will cook tea... then hopefully will get to comp this evening.

Hope you all ok. For those with colds, wrap yourself up warm in your pjs and dressing gown and sit infront of the TV and/or computer all evening!

The more I think about that holiday the more I'm jealous Little Jem! :):)

Stressed, I hope it goes well tomorrow.

    Hiya princess pixiedust.
I tried to be a good girl last night, and switched laptop off at 3.15am, so i could at least get some sleep for uni today!

Guess what???? Was tossing...turning...adjusting pillows...reading...walking around..., eventually fell asleep at 5.30am!!

Was surprisingly alert when alarm went off...got ready...drove to uni all fine...was sitting at back of lecture, and about 12.30, we're watching a dvd, and i couldn't even keep my eyes open!!!
Was trying to force myself to stay awake...kept imagining that lecturer will deliberately pick on me when i've nodded off, and i will be like...where am i?...who are you?...!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
This thought actually kept me awake for the hour til lunchbreak!

Then went outside for fresh air...checked mail on computer and came home!!
I'm ok if i'm physically doing something interesting...but sitting in that stuffy, boring lecture room was just too much for my sleep-deprived body!

If anyone got any suggestions for insomnia, plz let me know!! :o:o
Don't know how long i can last on 4 hours sleep!!!
I can feel my body is knackered and aching for sleep...but sleep won't come when its supposed to!!!

omg, just noticed we are all sitting together in the lounge for the 1st time all week (oh on late shift) and we are all on our laptops, so much for family time!
Going to Fortnum and mason tomorrow for afternoon tea, a treat for my mum as she wont be here for mothers day, anyway it is smart dress, so no trainers or jeans, but it is jolly cold out there, do you think it is ok to wear a rollneck and cardi?
    I hate being cold!

Hey sally. I had problems sleeping at the beginning of last year - not insomnia as it was a temporary problem but it lasted for a few months so I certainly wasn't my usual self. I was also in pain so the doc prescribed me some strong painkillers to take which knocked me out within 20 mins! He made it clear I should only take one when I knew I going to bed! I know medication isn't always the answer but maybe your doc could help get you back into a normal sleeping routine?

Although there are probably tons of herbal/complementary ideas that the guys and gals on here know about... cue help from others!

Ah, bath is ready - I'm off for bath and then dinner - speak later.

I always suffer especially when trying to get back into a routine, I usually temporary take tablets, usually herbal for a couple of nights, but try not to slip out of the routine at weekends or days off.

  • I NEED HELP!!!!

What's new?!?! OH's little boy has to go to school on Monday dressed as a fairytale character, and is not allowed to use any type of store bought costume. As I only had girls I am stumped as to what he can go as, all the male characters I can think of don't really have a recognisable costume. It needs to be simple as you know I am busy tomorrow (seeing LO).

Any suggestions gratefully received. I loved the ideas you all came up with for New Year so am keeping my fingers crossed otherwise he is taking a tin of Heinz beans and being Jack! :rotfl:

Nytol is pretty good - sis is a taxi driver and works strange shifts and it really helps her drop off, the old warm bath and milky drink does work too -
Cathy course rool neck and cardi will be fine - twinset & pearls and all that
Happy with any wins this year :A

    SOD good luck tomorrow
Peter Pan - all in green, green cap with feather
    Piggy? - 3 little pigs
Woodcutter - brown clothes with pretendy axe
Happy with any wins this year :A
  • Sally, you should try the hot milky drink, it contains a natural hormone which helps sleep. Also I can recommend trying Melatonin, another natural remedy which is normally produced by the body to regulate your sleep patterns. I know you can purchase it over the counter in the US as I buy it for jet lag. Perhaps Holland and Barrett stock it or you can buy online? Always get emails from the Canadian Pharmacies, maybe they can help :rotfl: :rotfl:

Sorry to make light, I am suffering from it at the moment as you may recall when I kept you company the other night, and it does become a vicious circle. It may well be worth seeing the Dr just to get you into a good routine for a few nights?
