    Some people's posts actually contain some common sense which is very very uncommon.
    "An arrogant and self-righteous Guardian reading tvv@t".

    !!!!!! is all that about?

    Why do they need excuses at all? All the banks have to say is that the property you want us to lend you money for isn't worth what you'd like pay for it. And on that basis only a madman would lend money.

    Sorry if i missed something but when i usually had my mortgage agreed ( usually 75% to 80% LTV) then bought my chosen house it was valued by the Lender who was giving me the mortgage.If i paid more than the valuation i had to stump up the difference.Or were there Lenders so hungry for business, commissions,fees that they were dishing out money no matter what the valuation of a house actually was? I must have gone to the banks that are still solvent today.

    xmaswoes= windup..who is it?
    It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
    Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
    If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
    If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
    If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
  • We said this about xmaswoes when he/she/it first appeared claiming they needed a 60K loan to get their finances sorted, or somesuch tripe.

    I do wonder if people who post like xmaswoes have problems reading and comprehending financial documents or terms and conditions in contracts.
    Or even walking and chewing gum at the same time.

    spurious - not true or genuine; false; counterfeit.

    I don't see any argument for the above definition. Most of the claims in your excerpt look like good grounds for rejecting a mortgage application in sane credit conditions. Perhaps people with CCJs were allowed to get mortgages previously but thankfully they can't as easily now!

    'Minor matters' I could agree - but they all sound like the involve an unpaid debt to me.

    Spurious.. It is a word i use often at work..."4 and half grand you want for that in part ex ?!!!! It's even got spurious trims on it.!!"

    Here to help..
