Oh! That makes me feel better....the last thing in my life not have succumbed to the MSE treatment. Their pouches of finest 'Ocean Feast' per wk cost double our meat budget ...and it's worthy, local organic stuff.

The price I pay for my lovng furry friends.:D

My cats love their little titbits of whatever meat we have had for dinner but I don't think they would like to have it all the time as their meals....I also get the ham scraps at the supermarket for us (32p for 100grams) which is lovely in sandwiches, salads and as a cat treat.

Talking about cats, so glad I kept up the cat insurance as my youngest cat has just been diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia in both hips and goes in for his first operation next Monday, thankfully my insurance is a decent one and he has life of illness cover upto £6k a year....apparently it is quite rare in cats so not much information is around and I am absolutely dreading it and getting in a state already.

Call me a racist, bigot, fascist whatever you want but I am fed up with the system in this country. Far too may Karen Matthews types with 5 or more kids knocked out by age 25 years old and more to come, all ready to become part of the next hoodie generation and make our lives more miserable even though we are financing their sordid lifestyles through our income tax.

Then we've got the immigrants who come here because the immigration service are so poorly fundeed that can't find them once they're here. I watched a programme on TV the other day where the Police stopped a couple of immigrants who had strayed onto the motorway. They couldn't speak a word of English and the Police couldn't detain them. Instead they were told to report to the nearest immigration office and sent on their way.....HELLO.. do you really think they are gonna turn up??? They didin't and promptly went missing.

And the immigration service can't deport anyone without their passport cos they don't know where they have come from so they too are free to continue sponging. How have they managed to get a job and a council flat????

Why is whenever I drive past a mosque during the working day it is full of Muslims going to or leaving prayer. How can you work if you have to pray two or three times a day.

Honestly it makes my blood boil. Privatise the NHS for a start. The welfare state is outdated and not suited to the modern world. It was designed by Britons for Britons in the forties when people weren't afraid to work for a living.

I used to think like that, but reading these forums has made me a bit more liberal, there are many who abuse the system but equally many who don't.

I think I am happy to pay my taxes knowing that the disadvantaged/disabled/etc have a safety net and no one starves, reading a post by mewbie and another about Argentina confirms it

I think its not perfect and the Daily Mail fans the fire but honestly its not all that bad, and I've never claimed and pay a hideous amount of tax:rotfl:

We have a far far greater problem in this country with an indigenous population that WON'T work, than immigrants that come here looking for work!!!!

I would think it entirely reasonable to refuse benefits & even non emergency health care to immigrants who come here UNTIL such a time as they have paid into the system.
I don't think it would change immigration, I think they would be delighted to be ALLOWED to work, thats why the overwhelming majority of them came here.

The benefits system in the UK is a disaster movie .... gone wrong.

It encourages lazy spongers and layabouts .... NO WORK ..... NO CASH. Only those who have contributed should get job seekers allowances, for a maximum of 6 months.

Don't have kids if you can't afford them, never mind relying on handouts to bring up half a dozen of them, WE HAVE NOT GOT A PROBLEM WITH A LACK OF PEOPLE IN THE WORLD. Quite the opposite, humanity is consuming the planets resources at an alarming rate, which will speed up as the population expands even further.

No wonder there are so many youths hanging about doing !!!!!! all, etc. If they ain't got a job bung them in the army for a while.

Overcrowded prisons.... no problem ... I'd make some space by bringing back capital punishment for child murders, etc.

Privatise the NHS. Tax refunds for parents who choose to privately educate their children.

In short payment should be related to consumption. I don't mind helping folk who are hard working but not in a highly paid job, but I do object to helping out lazy idle Bar stewards, often they ain't got a job because they wasted their edcuation fooling around and now expect to live the life of riley on the backs of others.
