    Hi Erin

"It is very sturdy and even easier to lock than my current one, comes with all fixings and cost £7.99. thank you again."
What was the new one called?
I have a "Tidy Two" with just 2 lines and have it in the bathroom above the bath, fixed to one wall and pull it out and hook it on the other. I live in fear of it breaking because we have had it for YEARS and it is fantastic. If I can find another I will buy it and keep it aside - just in case. The original is bound to go eventually. I think Lakeland used to have the 4-line ones and a 4 would do but has anyone seen one of the 2-line ones?

If you can let me know the maker and name I can try and find one here. Thanks.

I didn't think anyone else used one of these, I've never heard them mentioned and I wouldn't be without one. Thanks for your post!

Hi rafi, it's Homebase own brand called "Retractable indoor clothes line". It has 4 lines and is 3.5m long but (it says) will lock at any lenght up to 3.5m. My kitchen takes the full length which gives me plenty of space. I hang a double bed size duvet cover opened out across the full 4 lines at night and it's dry in the morning. ditto for sheets. It may be stating the obvious but I hang them at night when no one is using the kitchen because 1) himself would not take kindly to colliding with damp washing and 2)in the morning you can return the kitchen to its Homes and Gardens look. I am thrilled with it. My Homebase says that not all their stores stock them but they will phone around for you and let you know where they are stocked. Good luck

Hi Erin, thanks for the info. I didn't realise I was going to need it so soon. Posting was tempting fate - the line broke on my Tidy Two last night!

At least now I know where I can get a 4-line one! You've really saved me there.

Our CH is set up that the bathroom radiator is full on when the CH is on so the bathroom retains quite a lot of heat overnight and downie covers will dry by the morning. The line is a definite essential, especially in the winter.

Thank you so much rob and across. I spent a lot of time surfing yesterday looking in all the obvious places including Homebase and their site seemed very confused by the phrase "retractable clotheslines". In spite of this I popped in today to my local one (on my way to my very good, if small, local hardware shop. My heart sank to see a very young man in customer services. Well I figured his mother is probably doing his washing and he doesn't know how it gets dried!! Imagine my surprise when he called someone to get one for me and described it for her exactly. I will never again jump to conclusions - nor believe everything I read on the internet! It is very sturdy and even easier to lock than my current one, comes with all fixings and cost £7.99. thank you again. It is a lovely feeling to know people are trying to help.

Sorry to bring up such an old threat but where did you find the retractable clothes line. I bought one from the Internet recently and the quality was really shocking as was the customer service where I bought it DSCrossStitchOnline.co.uk (http://dscrossstitchonline.co.uk/shop/retractable-clothes-washing-line-6-lines-2196m-indoor-p-1129.html)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA
