Xbox not detected on PC for file sharing

I am struggling to solve this. I have XP and d.loaded WMP 11. When i click on library in wmp i then select media sharing and i expect to see the xbox as detected but it aint...

You won't. The Xbox detects the Media sharing computer, initiates the connection with it and then WMP Media sharing fires up. Make sure it's added as an exception in the firewalls you're using.0

How do you mean? I got the ip address from the xbox. From that i went into norton on the pc and entered the ip add from the xbox as a trusted pc, thus allowing the connection...At this stage do i go to xbox and the media sharing part?0

yes... the PC won't see the xbox (as far as i can remember), but the xbox should see the pc...0
