Boots Advantage Card

... and enter the Muppet!

I am really starting to get into this money saving thing. Over xmas, I was in Boots doing a bit of shopping. When at the till, it occurred to me that I had no idea what my reward card actually did for me. Apparently everyone but me already knows that you can just buy pretty much anything from Boots with the points. A nice suprise indeed when I found that I had nearly £30 on there :D

  • You can buy anything with the boots points as long as it is under the amount and not over, i.e. you cant put money towards your points to buy something. The trick is to get as many points as possible by spending the least amount of money. Keep an eye on this site and you will learn with the experts. I only found this site about October and upto date had about £100 in points and about £140 in Tesco points. I am now addicted to saving money and find it hard to spend without a code for online shopping or points voucher. I want to buy a sewing machine from Tesco on-line but cant find an electrical code so havent bought it yet, will buy when I get the code (how sad is that).

    GOOD LUCK

If a shop/company has a loyalty card, have one.

Don't shop in a shop through loyalty, but if you do use the card.

Makes money, well not really, but means you're not losing it, hopefully.

Had an advantage card for ages, but since looking on the Boots thread have managed to get enough points using all the AC machine vouchers and people's tips to go and get my ipod this weekend - hooray!

Actually you can make money with the Boots card, quite often Boots will give you more in points than you have had to spend! And these points are pretty easy to use in Boots, most people need things like paracetamol, shampoo or deodorant! :D

I did the same - saved all points when i was pregnant to buy baby things - it was such an exciting free shopping spree. Are you sure about the nappies I have bought boots nappies with my points before now.

The reason you can't use the points to buy baby milk is because they are not allowed to "promote" formula milk. It's the law as breastfeeding is to be encouraged.

You probably know but just in case... make sure to register with pampers and huggies on their websites as they send you stacks of money off coupons especially pampers!

personally i think breast feedin items like breast pumps and breast pads and lanisoh should be discounted to encourage breast feeding

im not convinced i save that much BF, i do it for my baby's health not money but still....

i spent around 100 for a manual pump, steraliser, bottle warmer, bottles, etc, £75 on electric breast pump (avent uno), £10 on lanisoh, £3.99 a week on breast pads, £40 on 4 nursing bras £7 on breast feeding freezing cups (via by avent) etc. etc.

but its worth it, BF is best

Edit: and yes i think these are essential items. the more help you have the longer you last and the easier it is. if they wanna encourageyou they should make it as easy as possible!

I usually save mine up all year for xmas. I collect as many bonus points as I can. I get my phone credit from Boots as I need it anyway so I might as well get some cash back on it. I collected £44 last year and this year I have £11 on it already :j
